Road Dog Jackson
DOG MEET

I've said it so many times...Let me introduce the band to ya

The core of the band were brought together in 2000 when a singer/songwriter chose them to be her backing band. As experienced musicians, they entered the studio in early 2001 to record a CD. With precious little promotion to support it, the CD was never going to trouble the charts and the singer moved into artist management.

This left four seasoned musicians: Terry on Guitars, Tracy on Keys/Guitar/Vocals, Paul on Drums & Trev on Bass/Vocals, with a choice; go their separate ways again or carry on within a new band.

Because they realised what a strong unit they were, they made the right decision and stayed together, augmenting their line-up with Rich, an exciting sax/keys player. The circle was complete when Phil joined as their new lead singer & frontman. June 2007 saw Rich leave the band and the amazing Colin Hartshorn take over on Sax & Guitar.

ROAD DOG JACKSON was chosen as the name for the band, since it sounded like a grizzled old blues singer and also reflected the work ethic of getting out and playing live as much as possible, to as many people as possible. They made in instant impact on the live circuit in the UK.

Each month seems to see them going from strength to strength, playing favourite local venues, but also many private functions. RDJ have a reputation for encouraging audience participation, bringing members of the audience up to sing with the band.

After some discussions on direction Tel decided that RDJ was no longer for him and Steve took over the reins to maintain the 6 piece line up.

When Trev & Tracy decided to upsticks back home (for Tracy) to South Carolina, Paul used the opportunity to move on also. For a short while Richie was in but then with the great news that he was about to become a dad his priorities shifted. All of this resulted in a few weeks of auditions and the introduction of Chris (bass), John (Keys/vocals) and our old friend Colin returning to the full line up with new drummer Glenn. The 6 was a 7 when Tel decided to immediately rejoin.

2010 saw Col & Terry finally move on to pastures new and RDJ are now a 5 piece for the first time in their history.
